Policy for the Provision of Core, and Special Order Equipment

The above policy will take effect from 1st September 2010 and will mean that a number of items of equipment will be removed from the catalogue. At present there may be a stock of some items, but these will be allowed to run down over the course of the coming weeks. The full list of items affected is contained in the Equipu web site under the ‘Information, Reports and Documents’ section and in the folder named ‘Policy for the Provision of Core, and Special Order Equipment’. A copy of the main document will also be available. It is important that these documents are accessed and read.

Riser recliners are included on this list and when the stock of new chairs has gone, only recycled chairs will be available. However, please be advised that the new chairs will still be seen in the catalogue. We cannot remove these entries as it would not allow access to recycled stock. We will add some text to the description to explain this.

If there are any questions related to the Policy please contact Alison Docherty, Equipu Project Manager alison.docherty@sw.glasgow.gov.uk 0141 276-5736, or Shona Millar, Equipu Senior Officer, shona.millar@sw.glasgow.gov.uk 0141 276-5885.

ALSO

September Weekend

The store will be closed on Friday 24th September and Monday 27th September for public holidays. To ensure that all emergency provision can be met, the following guidelines should be implemented:

·         Any routine assessments carried out in the week leading up to the holiday (Week beginning 20th September) should have their orders placed for standard delivery after the holiday period e.g. from Tuesday 28th September onwards. Please bear in mind that by picking the 1st available slots after the holiday, then the slots will be used up very quickly. Please try to leave sufficient for emergencies in all areas.

·         Only emergency orders should be placed on the system for delivery for Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd September.

If you do require an emergency order on these days please contact the store and ask to speak with a member of the management team. This will allow us the opportunity to deal with the order appropriately. Adherence to these guidelines will ensure that the emergency provision can be met at this period.

Note that existing emergency arrangements within service areas, for holiday closure periods remain unchanged.
